Body in the Buff - Softer Smoother Skin in Time for Summer Holidays

Many of us are guilty of it. Out of sight out of mind, our skin can be neglected during the winter months. Then, once summer comes, we are in a last minute panic for soft, smooth skin with a sexy sheen that just wants to be touched.

If you’ve found yourself in this predicament now it looks like warmer weather is here, at least for now, don’t worry we’ve got an emergency skin SOS plan to help you get silky skin to show off this summer.

SOS Step 1 - Daily Detox

Whilst detoxing is a hotly debated topic, no matter whether you are for or against detoxing there are some daily practices that you can get into that will support your body’s own natural detox pathways:

●    Start every morning with hot water in lemon or diluted apple cider vinegar.
●    Cut out refined sugars and processed foods.
●    Start your bathroom time with dry body brushing - work in long upward strokes towards the heart along your arms and legs.
●    If you’re not a big exerciser, get more active! Try walking to work, or incorporating a walk in your commute, or even on your lunch hour.

SOS Step 2 Feed Your Skin from the Inside Out

Dull skin can be a sign of poor diet, just as dry skin, acne and other skin imperfections can be caused by a lack of certain nutrients. For healthy skin (as well as overall health), you should eat: 

●    Plenty of vegetables, incorporating a broad spectrum of colours - greens are important of course but don’t forget your reds, oranges, yellows and purples. 
●    Only eat low GI fruits, and limit to two portions a day.
●    Don’t forget your oily fish and eggs for your EFAs.
●    Small portions of nuts and seeds should be eating for minerals such as zinc.

SOS Step 3 - Spa at Home

We can also give our skin a helping hand from the outside with our beauty regimen:
