Cold Weather Hair Care Tips

Corinne Morley, in-house beauty expert at Trilogy, has some tips to get your crowning glory back into shape after the extremes of the cold season:

It’s not just our skin that suffers from the sharp bite of winter; it can also be a tough time for hair.  Bitter cold, icy gales and dry winter air can combine to make hair dry, brittle and dull.

Intensive conditioning is definitely called for and you can even do it at home without braving the weather!  Rather than going for specialist treatment products that end up in the back of the bathroom cabinet, use a liberal amount of conditioner and leave it in for 10 minutes.  This gives hair a deep and thorough conditioning and ensures every strand benefits.

If the ends of your hair are still victim to the frizz, rub a very small amount of conditioner between your hands, apply it just to the ends and leave it in till your next wash.

I’ve also been known to use Trilogy Everything Balm to tame flyaway ends – it does a great job doubling as a treatment and styling product.

It’s worth keeping in mind too that healthy hair requires a healthy scalp.  Trilogy’s new advanced natural hair care range offers dual benefits, with pure natural actives including certified organic rosehip oil and chamomile to nourish and condition both hair and scalp.

Keracyn™
, the key ingredient in all four products, is a new high performance natural active extracted from the second year leaves of globe artichokes. Rich in proteins and antioxidants, Keracyn™ delivers potent anti-ageing benefits for hair. It strengthens the hair shaft’s protective outer shield by preserving the cohesion of cuticle scales for more resilient, shiny, frizz-free hair. It protects from sun and oxidative damage and promotes hair density, strengthening and protecting hair fibres and helping hair retain its healthy and bright colour.

It can take hair a few washes to adjust to natural products, just as it can take skin a few weeks to show the benefits of natural skincare, so be patient – you will be rewarded.
