Make Up Through The Years - A Guide To What To Wear In Your 20s

Makeup can be a challenge, but I prefer to call it a lifelong learning process. Whether it’s mastering that flawless cat eye with a liquid liner or finding the perfect shade of lipstick that miraculously goes well with everything you wear, these things take time. But luckily for you, they are not obligatory life skills.

However, for those who want to submerge themselves in the do’s and don’ts of makeup and have the inclination to learn how to choose makeup that both suits you and is age appropriate, we have created this series of articles about Makeup Through the Years.

You may recall our series on Skincare Through the Years and you can find those articles here.

Makeup in your 20s - The Breakdown

Being in your 20s is amazing, especially when it comes to fashion and beauty. It’s so much fun to start experimenting with different styles and looks and makeup plays a big role in that. Lipstick and nail polish are the two makeup products that have the most potential. You can basically wear a different colour every day and coordinate it with your outfits.

Once you start taking makeup a bit more seriously you might also want to start thinking about investing in some proper makeup tools such as an eyelash curler and brushes. Now is definitely the time to learn what all those different brushes are for and get the hang of using them. The same goes for eyeliner. There are so many different looks you can create with eyeliner and your future self will thank you for having started practicing in your late teens/early 20s. A night on the town just isn’t the same without a perfectly executed winged eyeliner!

Many women (and men) in their 20s still experience the occasional breakout, which is not a look you want to sport on your first day at your first real job, or even while you’re still at university for that matter. So, we’ve selected some skin and budget friendly concealers, such as a CC cream and the Pacifica Magical Multi-Pencil. These two products are great for when you’re in a rush or just don’t want to go through the complete face contouring process.
