Summer Makeup - How to Make Sure Your Makeup Stays Put This Summer
We’re here to help you embrace the less is more ethos this summer. When it comes to makeup, we always think summer looks should be lighter. We also understand however that not everyone is that comfortable with this look, and we’re always hearing how much more confident people feel with makeup on.
To help you achieve more with less, we’ve put together this handy how-to, featuring our favourite natural and organic makeup products for summertime makeup looks.
Summer Makeup Tip #1 - Wear Primer

Summer Makeup Tip #2 - Ditch the Foundation
If you don’t like going au natural when it comes to your skin, rather than a heavy foundation, look for a tinted moisturiser, BB or CC Cream and use with concealer. There are heaps of natural and organic ones around now which offer good coverage but are still quite light. Did we lose you at BB and CC? Well “BB” can stand for “Beauty Balm” or “Blemish Balm”. What does this mean? It means the product moisturises, protects and corrects all in one. “CC” on the other hand stands for “Colour Correcting” so these products are normally more about correcting redness, dullness and covering pigmentation.
In case you’re thinking “whatever next?” Green People have already realised a DD Cream. The “DD” in this instance refers to “Daily Defence” and refers to the SPF15 contained in the product, and a whole host of other age defying ingredients!

We all know pressed powder can look heavy and caked on if applied with a makeup sponge. To help prevent this, try utilising a makeup brush to apply. Better still, switch to a loose powder for lighter coverage. Apply with a blusher or kabuki brush. Best idea? Try bronzer to give you a golden glow this summer.
We’re huge fans of the no makeup-makeup look, and summertime is the perfect time to practise this. On eyelids, why not try using a balm instead of eyeshadow to give the appearance of dewy, soft-focus skin.
Primer on the eyelids is also a must for hot, summer days, be sure to apply evenly and give the product a chance to dry before applying any colour. Keep any eyeshadow colours light, neutrals and pinks are best for summer looks.
Finally, always ensure your mascara is waterproof and smudge-proof!
When it comes to lips, we think summer is the perfect time to go bare, and utilise a balm to enhance your lips and give a subtle, sexy sheen. If you do want a pop of colour, lips are the place to do it. We think a gloss is more summery, but lipsticks are great for evenings.
